Protea flowers

A simple, rustic bunch perfect for a bedside table or a thoughtful "just because" gesture. Strength & Resilience: Known for surviving harsh conditions, they represent South African unity and beauty. Transformation: Named after the Greek god Proteus (who could change form), they symbolize change and hope. Unique Colors: Pink represents grace and femininity, Red symbolizes passion and strength, and White stands for purity and unity.

🌿 Care Instructions

Proteas are renowned for their longevity and can last 1 to 3 weeks in a vase if properly maintained. Fresh Cut: Upon arrival, trim approximately 2cm off each stem at a diagonal angle to maximize water absorption. Water Quality: Use a clean vase with fresh water. Add one teaspoon of bleach or a pinch of citric acid per liter to prevent bacterial growth (which is more effective and cheaper than commercial flower food). Hydration: Proteas are "thirsty" flowers. Check levels frequently and top up daily, as they can drink a vase dry in just a few days. Cleanliness: Remove all leaves that would sit below the water line to prevent slime and bacterial buildup. Placement: Keep the bouquet in a cool spot away from direct sunlight, ripening fruit, or strong drafts. Everlasting Bonus: Once they begin to wilt, Proteas dry beautifully. Simply hang them upside down in a dark, dry location for several weeks to create a long-lasting dried display.
